As we have already mentioned, the ‘Click HereE’ trend consists of an image on a plain white background, with ‘Click Here’ written in bold and black font and a diagonal arrow pointing down, with ‘ALT’ on the left side. ‘ is pointing to a text or alt text section. Actually, this feature helps users to add a text description to the photos uploaded on the platform. As soon as you click on ALT, hidden text appears in it.

According to experts, this feature can help visually impaired people to understand the picture with the help of text-to-speech recognition and Braille language.

Photo descriptions as part of the alt text feature can be up to 420 characters.

The ‘Alt Text’ feature was introduced on X (formerly Twitter) in 2016. The social media giant had said during its launch, “…we are empowering everyone to ensure that the content shared on Twitter reaches the widest possible audience.”

How to use this feature?

The X blog post states that the feature can be accessed using “the Compose Image Description option” in the app.

“Enable this feature using the Compose Image Description option in the Twitter app’s Accessibility Settings. The next time you add a photo to a Tweet, each thumbnail in Composer will have an Add Description button. People who are visually impaired will have access to the description through their assistive technology (e.g., screen readers and braille displays). Descriptions can be up to 420 characters.”

Many political parties, politicians and influential people have checked this feature and posted the ‘Click Here’ picture.

BJP posted a picture on its official handle using the ‘Click Here’ feature. When the ‘Alt’ option is clicked, it says, “Once again Modi government”.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also took advantage of this trend to inform people about its March 31 rally. The text read, “Come to Ramlila Maidan on March 31 to save the country.”
